Aoi Sekai no Chushin de Volume 1 Cover

World War Blue (蒼い世界の中心で Aoi Sekai no Chūshin de?, lit. In the Center of the Blue World) is a 2007 Japanese fantasy manga series written by Anastasia Shestakova and illustrated by Crimson that was released on Red Road's mobile service from 2007. Ten tankōbon volumes has been publish by Micro Magazine so far.

Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series for release in North America beginning in Summer of 2013[1].


Plot[]

The plot is a re-imagining of the console wars between Sega and Nintendo, the series tells the story of two kingdoms, Segua Kingdom, based off of Sega and Ninteldo Empire, based off of Nintendo, locked in a struggle for dominance over the land of Consume. After years of war, the Segua Kingdom is on the defensive until a kid named Gear appears boasting of his incredible speed.

Segua Kingdom[]

  • Gear (ギア Gia?) - Gear is the main protagonist of the series. He is based off of Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog.
  • Nel (ネル Neru?) - Nel is one of the protagonist of the series. She is based off of Nei from Phantasy Star II.
  • Til (ティル Tiru?) - Til, is a supporting character in the series.
  • Opal (オパール Opāru?) - Opal is one of the protagonist of the series. She is based off of Opa Opa.
  • Ramses (ラムセス Ramusesu?) - Ramses is a supporting character in the series.

Ninteldo Empire[]

  • Marcus (マルクス Marukusu?) - Marcus is a supporting character in the series. He is based off of Mario from Super Mario Bros.
  • Zelig (ゼリグ Zerige?) - Zelig is a supporting character in the series. He is based off of Link from The Legend of Zelda.
  • Guliji (グリージ Guriji?) - Guliji is a supporting character in the series. He is based off of Luigi from Super Mario Bros.
  • Fare (ファーエ Fāe?) - Fare is a supporting character in the series. She is based off of Fire Emblem.
  • Masa (マーサ Māsa?) - Masa is a supporting character in the series. He is based off of EarthBound.
  • Carvai (カーヴァイ Kavai?) - Carvai is a supporting character in the series. She is based off of Kirby and King Dedede from Kirby.
  • Saroid (サーロイド Sāroido?) - Saroid is a supporting character in the series. She is based off of Samus Aran from Metroid.
  • Foster (フォスタ Fosuta?) - Foster is a supporting character in the series. He is based off of Fox McCloud from Star Fox.
